I Dreamt I Moved to the South. . . And Then I Did.

If you thought I was patriotic before, you should see me now that I have moved to Alabama.

When I was preparing to move this story from US Vogue's April 1992 issue kept popping up in my head.  Even though it was shot in New Orleans, it does have an Alabama feel.

I did spy a tire swing I want to sneak back to 

- hopefully the kids will let me have a go.

Although, I don't know when you would relax on your porch.  It's technically still winter and it's been 85 degrees all week.  And I don't see screens on these there porches.  You need screens.

These bugs are as big as the ones I lived with in Brazil.  

And I'm not as tough as I used to be.

Dream (90s) Model Duo

Remember these dream girls?

 It's Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta from the February 1993 issue of American Vogue shot by Arthur Elgort.  I know, I loved that issue too.

They were in the January issue of American Vogue this year and everything about it was captivating.   I especially love how disfigured Shalom looks in this first shot.  Beautiful disfigurement but disfigured nonetheless.  

I must admit it hurts my heart a little to think that their first Vogue collaboration was almost 20 years ago.  I sometimes forget my age and think I am in my 20s.  I bet Shalom and Amber V. do the same.

Dreaming of the UK

I have really been missing England, Scotland and Wales lately (sorry Ireland, but I have yet to visit you).  I miss the green and the dark skies and of course the fashion.  

But mostly I miss this little polka-dot, 

Missoni-clad wee one.  

 There are a lot of reasons to love it over there, 

but this one is the most important.
